This time last year Google added a useful shortcut for regular users of the G Suite apps allowing very quick creation of new documents.
Using the .new domain, Google added functionality to quickly create new Google documents, spreadsheets, slides, sites, or forms simply by typing doc.new, sheet.new, slide.new, site.new, or form.new directly into the browser address bar. As Engadget reports, that functionality has now expanded to Google Calendar.
As the tweet by Google below reveals, it's now possible to type cal.new or meeting.new into the browser address bar and have a new Calendar event load in a tab. Using it saves the few mouse clicks previously required to open Calendar and add a new event.

Google knows some of us use more than one Google account, so it added additional functionality to allow the shortcut to create new events in multiple accounts. For example, if you are logged in to two Google accounts, you can add a new Calendar event to the second account by typing cal.new/2/ or meeting.new/2/. If you'd rather it go in the first account, just replace the 2 with a 1.
This feature is sure to be a huge time saver if your day is spent creating new G Suite files. For everyone else, it's just a really easy shortcut to remember for the odd occasion you do need to use G Suite and don't already have it loaded in a tab.
