New Yorkers seemingly aren't so lonely in their apartments yet that they're ready to stand on their balconies and sing.
On Tuesday morning, The Daily Show host Trevor Noah attempted to follow the lead of all the quarantined people in Italy who've been flocking to their balconies to make music together and pass the time, but he didn't manage to create a heartwarming moment like they've been having in Italy.
Italy has been put on total lockdown in an attempt to slow the spread of the new coronavirus, which results in the respiratory disease COVID-19. So to entertain themselves and foster a sense of community, many residents have started singing, dancing, and playing instruments out on their balconies.
Inspired by Italy's response to the coronavirus isolation, Noah went out on a balcony and started to sing "A Whole New World" from Aladdin, Disney's 1992 animated movie. Before he could finish his song, however, a man can be heard furiously screaming, "SHUT THE FUCK UP!"

A discouraged Noah walked back inside and tweeted, "Nothing can break the human spirit. Except that guy. That kinda hurt." Though it's unclear if the video was real or staged, there's no denying it has extremely believable New York Energy.
While things didn't go smoothly on Noah's first attempt to bring the city together through song, he vowed he'll try again tomorrow. Don't let the haters get you down, dude.
